We are seeking a dynamic Business Travel Sales Manager to join our team at The LINE Austin.  A successful candidate will have a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Job Overview 
The Business Travel Sales Manager is a professional who has demonstrated, through performance, a thorough understanding and competence in sales, business development, client relations, and the hotel/business travel industry. This person responsible for generating business as it relates to prospecting and securing individual corporate accounts, with a focus on Local Negotiated & Entertainment Transient Accounts on behalf of the hotel in accordance with the goals and strategies outlined in the annual Marketing Plan. This position must have a strong grasp of market and industry trends and utilize this knowledge in strategic planning. This person is a dynamic sales leader who will positively impact the hotel’s business and clearly define the LINE brand. This person will also partner with our Portfolio Business Travel Sales Manager on any opportunities regarding prospective National or Consortia Accounts. Ensures quotas and goals are met and direct sales activities are focused on generating the highest possible RevPAR for the overall hotel’s success.  

The person having this position must possess excellent communication and organization skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, be solution oriented, possess superb time management skills and have a thorough understanding of LINE policies, procedures, and expectations.  
 
Because of the fluctuating demands of the company’s operation, it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your position, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employee is expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed. 
 
Essential Functions & Responsibilities 
  1. Solicit local accounts that provide individual transient business and individual corporate sales business that ensures maximization of revenue to achieve and/or exceed revenue and room nights through various efforts (outside sales calls, in-person site visits, referrals, networking, etc.) to maximize room revenue to meet/exceed goals. 
  2. Initiate contacts and develop business relationships at a local level in anticipation of negotiated volume business coming into area.  
  3. Generate top line sales to meet and exceed market segment budgets. 
  4. Collaborate with portfolio management to identify key market producers and conduct weekly calls analyzing production of key portfolio accounts.  
  5. Manage property specific RFPs in Lanyon/CVENT and conduct negotiations with key decision makers.  
  6. Work with Revenue Manager and DOS to analyze market trends and create target rates property rates for RFP season. 
  7. Manage the re-contracting and rate extension process for existing accounts for following year. 
  8. Participate in annual budgeting process, marketing plan and sales forecasts. 
  9. Partner with Group Sales and Catering Managers on potential local accounts through cross selling efforts. 
  10. Create and modify reservations for local Business Travel Accounts. 
  11. Read daily shift reports and manage any guest opportunities for Business Travel and Consortia guests. 
  12. Complete all on-boarding for new Consortia and maintain partner portals, update photos and descriptors. 
  13. Notify/coordinate customer specifications with other departments and quickly, efficiently respond to customer issues, comments, and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales prospects. 
  14. Assist with routing and billing associated with Group/Business Travel Accounts. 
  15. Identify repeat guests/VIP’s from local/brand accounts for prospecting efforts. 
  16. Review the Daily Arrivals Report to identify potential repeat customers for Local Negotiated Accounts development. 
  17. Develop a marketing strategy by analyzing historical, current, and future hotel/market trends and creating selling strategies to capture accounts while maximizing revenue and meeting/exceeding sales goals.  
  18. Develop and continually enhance relationships with key corporate, business, and travel industry accounts to maintain and increase market share. 
  19. Maintain accurate, legible records and files for account production and history. 
  20. Participate in sales blitzes, trade shows, business trips and community organizations to increase recognition within the industry.  
  21. Prepare and submit all weekly and monthly sales reports as required. 
  22. Assist in development and preparation of promotion offers, advertising and marketing opportunities, etc. to enhance hotel business. 
  23. Participate in weekly sales/revenue meetings and other in-house meetings as required. 
  24. Conduct competitive surveys of other hotels and review all current market trends. 
  25. Maintain awareness of documentation needed and retained in employee files. 
  26. Be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures including OSHA requirements. 
  27. Attend relevant meetings. 
 
Knowledge, Requirements and Skills 
  1. Four-year college degree preferred, preferably in Hospitality and/or Marketing. 
  2. Must have a minimum three (3) or more years’ experience as a Hotel Business Travel Sales Manager for a full-service hotel. 
  3. Must have proven sales and supervisory experience, preferably in the hospitality industry. 
  4. Must have leadership qualities. 
  5. Market knowledge required. 
  6. Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, in particular) and Outlook, Microsoft Teams. 
  7. Lanyon, Delphi, Duetto, Agency360 and Opera experience required. 
  8. Must be able to travel. 
  9. Must have a valid driver’s license and access to an automobile for outside sales calls. 
  10. Must be able to work flexible and extended hours. 
  11. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. 
  12. Ability to manage data with confidentiality.  
  13. Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English Language.  
  14. Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
  15. Excellent attention to detail. 
  16. Ability to multitask.
